Bluebonnet Books
Bluebonnet books are selected by the Texas Library Association for students in 3rd through 6th grade. At North Joshua Elementary the students in 3rd through 5th grade are challenged to read as many Bluebonnet nominated books as they can. To recieve credit for reading a bluebonnet book, after reading each book, they are required to answer questions and submit them through a link. I will review their answers and log their results. Students may check their progress in my binder in the library.
Once a student has read 5 they will be recognized with a spirit stick and be able to vote for their favorite Bluebonnet nominee in January. In order to participate in the voting, books must be read and questions logged by midnight on January 20th. Students will also be awarded spirit sticks for reading 10 Bluebonnet books and all 19 Bluebonnet books. Please be aware that some books on the full Bluebonnet list (grades 3rd - 6th) are for mature audiences. Feel free to read their reviews on Amazon.com as you help your child select books to read.
